Piper Archer LX

the plane is ready to fly. Garmin G1000 NXi glass cockpit— the same avionics used in regional airlines.
Why Glass Cockpit Training Matters
The G1000 NXi is the same flight deck found in Cessna Caravans, King Airs, and regional turboprops. Training on glass from day one means no retraining when you step into a modern cockpit.

What Our Pilots Say
Questions?
FAQ
Do I need any prior experience?
None at all. Every professional pilot started exactly where you are. All you need is motivation and a valid government ID. We handle the rest — structured curriculum, experienced instructors, and a clear path.
What is a Discovery Flight?
A 60-minute introductory flight where you take the controls with an instructor. The $249 fee is fully credited toward enrollment — so it’s risk-free.
What are the age and medical requirements?
17 to earn your PPL (16 to solo). You’ll need a basic FAA medical exam — simpler than most people think. You can begin training before completing the medical.
Do I need to study before my first lesson?
No advance study required. Your instructor guides you step by step. If you’re eager, the FAA’s Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge is free online.
How long does it take to get a PPL?
FAA minimum is 40 hours, national average is 60–70. With our structured training, motivated students finish in 3–6 months flying 2–3 times per week.
What does a typical schedule look like?
We’re built around schedule flexibility — train 2–3 times per week, mornings, evenings, or weekends. Most students fly 3-hour blocks; ground school meets once or twice weekly in the evening.
Can I train part-time while working?
Absolutely — most of our students do. Consistency matters more than intensity. Even flying twice a week builds skills effectively.
What if I fail a checkride?
Your instructor reviews the areas that need work, schedules additional training, and preps you for a retest. You only retake the portions you didn’t pass. Many successful airline captains didn’t pass every checkride first try.
How much does flight training cost?
Costs vary based on progress and goals. Use our Training Cost Calculator for a detailed estimate, or call for a personalized breakdown.
What financing options are available?
Flexible payment options available. Many students pay per-lesson, while career-track students choose block packages. Contact us to explore what works for you.
Can I fly for the airlines after training here?
That’s the plan. Our full career path is designed to take you from zero to the 1,500 hours required for ATP. Many graduates now fly for regional and major airlines.
Where is 30 Day CFI located?
Van Nuys Airport (KVNY), 7900 Balboa Blvd, Suite E102, Van Nuys, CA 91406. Easily accessible from all of greater Los Angeles via the 405 and 101.
